Interviews on our prototype

Interview on prototype with Maria; 19, female
ME: Do you like the design of our condiment packet?
MARIA: Yes, it’s fancy
ME:  Do you feel there is enough condiment?
MARIA: Yeah, maybe too much though. Sometimes, like when I have fries, I won’t use it all.
ME: Do you like the fact that it will sit in a cup holder?
MARIA: Yeah, very helpful while I’m driving and trying to eat.
ME: Would you use all of the flavors?
MARIA: Yes. If I were eating chicken nuggets or something.
ME: If you were to change anything about it, what would it be?
MARIA: Make it a little smaller.

Nancy; female, 54
ME: Do you like the design of our condiment packet?
NANCY: Yes I do very much. It looks nothing like those little packets.
ME:  Do you feel there is enough condiment?
NANCY: Plenty.
ME: Do you like the fact that it will sit in a cup holder?
NANCY: Yes. If you get it patented, I could use it on the way to Lawrence to see you guys and not make a mess.
ME: Would you use all of the flavors?
NANCY: I sure would. I like sauces.
ME: If you were to change anything about it, what would it be?
NANCY: No you did great.

Interviews on original condiment packet

Sydney Boyer; female, 21
ME: What are the pros and cons of the ketchup packet?
SYDNEY: Too small is a con. It gets all over your hand when you open it. Pro is it is better than no ketchup at all.
ME: How many packets do you use for a meal?
SYDNEY: 2
ME:Would you like a variety of flavors?
SYDNEY: No. Except maybe ranch with my fries
ME: Is it messy?
SYDNEY: Yeah, you can't squirt it in the car. Or put it on the napkin and get it everywhere
ME: Is it easy to open?
SYDNEY: No, it gets on your hand.
ME: Would you rather pour or dip?
SYDNEY: Dip, actually.
ME: What do you think about our idea?
SYDNEY: I would only want one flavor really. Cup holder idea is nice. It would be nice in the car.

Diana Fath; female, 20
ME: What are the pros and cons of the ketchup packet?
DIANA: I hate them. There is no pros about them.
ME: How many packets do you use for a meal?
DIANA: Like 4, or more.
ME:Would you like a variety of flavors?
DIANA: Sure. Yeah.
ME: Is it messy?
DIANA: Yeah, it gets everywhere.
ME: Is it easy to open?
DIANA: No. It gets everywhere and you can't get it all out anyway.
ME: Would you rather pour or dip?
DIANA: Dip and pour, It just depends.
ME: What do you think about our idea?
DIANA: I would only worry about the other flavors being wasted. Nobody is going to take home packets from a fast food restaurant.
